TTArtisan 17mm F/4 Tilt-Shift Lens
The TTArtisan 17mm f/4 Tilt-Shift lens is an ultra-wide tilt-shift prime designed for full-frame (and even medium-format) mirrorless systems, offering dramatic perspective control, with ±8° tilt and ±8 mm shift, and a massive ~64 mm image circle to cover both full-frame and medium-format sensors. It features an optical formula of 17 elements in 11 groups, a small minimum focusing distance of 0.3 m, and manual focus / manual aperture control. Its all-metal construction and full mechanical control make it ideal for architecture, interiors, large-scale landscape, and creative use of shift/tilt movements.
Key Features
- Ultra-wide 17 mm focal length for immersive perspective.
- Maximum aperture f/4 (minimum f/16) and a 10-blade diaphragm for smooth rendering.
- Tilt of ±8° and shift of ±8 mm enables control of perspective and plane of focus.
- Image circle of approx. 64 mm, sufficient even for medium-format sensors (e.g., Fujifilm GFX) according to manufacturer.
- Rotation of the mechanism up to 360° (depending on mount) to align tilt/shift axes.
- Optical design: 17 elements in 11 groups (including aspherical and high-index elements) to control distortion and aberrations.
- Manual focus only—no autofocus.
- Robust metal build, suitable for studio and demanding use.
Best Suitable
- Architectural and interior photographers needing to correct converging verticals or shift camera perspective without heavy post-processing.
- Landscape and large-format photographers using full-frame or medium-format sensors (especially on Fujifilm GFX) who want ultra-wide coverage plus tilt/shift control.
- Creative shooters exploring selective focus via tilt (miniature or extended focus effects) or dramatic wide angles with shift.
- Professional workflows where mechanical precision and full control are preferred over autofocus convenience.
FAQ – TTArtisan 17mm F/4 Tilt-Shift Lens
Will this lens work on crop-sensor cameras?
Yes physically (if mount matches), but because it’s designed for full-frame/medium-format with a large image circle, on a crop sensor you’ll get a narrower field of view and you may not fully benefit from the shift/tilt range.
Can I tilt and shift at the same time?
According to some manufacturer notes, tilt and shift cannot be used simultaneously.
Which mounts are available at launch?
Initially for Sony E and Fujifilm GFX mounts. Additional mounts (including Nikon Z, Canon RF, Leica L) are expected.
What is the minimum focusing distance?
0.3 m (~11.8″) according to spec sheet.
