The Fujifilm Fujinon GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR is a formidable super-telephoto prime lens for the GFX medium-format camera system. Designed for demanding photography—wildlife, sports, birding—it offers a powerful reach equivalent to 396mm in full-frame format. The lens combines rich optics—21 elements in 14 groups, including two Super ED and five ED elements—for outstanding sharpness with minimal aberrations.

It features remarkably effective 6-stop optical image stabilization (OIS) that helps tame camera shake and enables handheld shooting in less-than-ideal conditions. The autofocus is driven by a linear motor, delivering fast and near-silent performance. Built tough, it’s weather-sealed (WR) to perform in dusty or damp environments and down to temperatures of around −10°C.

Despite its long reach, the lens is relatively lightweight for its class (≈1375 g) and manageable when mounted with a tripod collar. It also supports an optional 1.4× Teleconverter (GF 1.4X TC WR) to extend reach.
